Juju Quickstart 1.4.0 released, now with full-ish OS X support

Over the last two weeks Francesco and I have made changes to Juju Quickstart with the primary goal of getting it to work under OS X.  Yesterday we released 1.4.0 which accomplishes that goal.

The one caveat is that local environments are not supported due to their dependency on LXC.

In addition to the work to support OS X, another small change keeps Quickstart compatible with HP Cloud after some incidental credentials changes.

On Ubuntu, the juju-quickstart packages are available in the juju/stable PPA and are available for precise, saucy, trusty, and an experimental build for utopic.

On OS X, the preferred installation method is via brew.  Simply use ‘brew install juju-quickstart’.  If you need to install brew on your system, instructions are at http://brew.sh.

The OS X package has installers for 10.7, 10.8, and 10.9 though only the latest has been fully tested. Let me know if you are running an older version of OS X and run into problems.

Enjoy.
